Konstantinos Theoharidis, Thessaloniki, Greek
How did you get into photography?
My first experience with photography started during my highschool years when I participated in a photo competition where I won the first place and a brand new Olympus film camera! I dynamically entered photography, shooting rock concert gigs in Thessaloniki and close towns. I started showing my work to other participated groups and their reactions gave me the appropriate motive to move on. As years went by I decided to take some photo lessons in Stereosis Photography School located in Thessaloniki and I graduated after 3 years.
What are your favorite subjects, where is your focus?
As I mentioned before I started shooting live concert gigs, a thing that I still do, but since I attended photo class I discovered street photography. I like shooting everyday people and moments, to unite the soul with the souless things that represents (characterizes) me in street photography.
What cameras do you use preferably for analog and/or digital photography?
I use various cameras mostly analog film cameras like Leica M6, Rolleiflex TLR camera and Hasselblad. For concert gigs I use digital camera Nikon D800 and sometimes my Leica.
What do you think, in which direction will photography in general move?
I think photography will move towards commercial path and digital photography helped in this direction. Nevertheless there is an increase in analog photography which is encouraging for the art itselfs.
What influenced your style?
I love many street photographers, but the ones that influenced me the most are Elliot Erwitt, Henry Cartierr Bresson and Vivian Mayer.
What would you like to photograph the most?
I mostly like to photoshoot everyday life capturing the decisive moment!
Where can we learn more about you and your work?
My webpage is under construction, but it will be running soon. I am also planning to publish a photography book after the summer.
Until then I show some of my work on my facebook page.
