Please introduce yourself to our readers:
Hi! I’m Cécile aka La Fille Renne, a film photographer and osteologist from France. I am 28 years old and I love natural science, selling plushies that I make, post-rock, tea, Cervidae, sea, traveling, and body modifications. Film photography has an important place in my life.

How and when did you get into photography?
I grew up in a family with a father and a grandfather who did film photography, and I always saw a lot of old cameras and black & white prints at home. I had my first film compact camera at ten years. At the end of adolescence, I moved to digital, with a compact, a bridge and then SLR cameras. It allowed me to learn, to exercise myself and to define better what I like. And I moved again to analog in 2012 for good.

What cameras do you use preferably for analog and digital?
My favorite analog cameras are the Canon AE-1 Program (this camera follows me everywhere and it’s the one I used with Kono films), Lomo LC-A+, Semflex Standard 4.5, Polaroid Automatic 330 Land Camera, Polaroid SX-70 Alpha, Fujica STX-1N…

Your portraits have a remarkable intimate style, does it help to know them well or could you also work with total strangers?
Thank you! I do both. Sometimes I work with friends and sometimes I work with new people, just met for the shooting. It’s easier to work with friends because I know how they work and they are more confident or less shy with me.

Congratulations to your own book! Please tell us more about „Review Argentique“.
Thanks again! The concept in my blog is simple: do a review of all the cameras/films I'd test with their features, my impressions and my shots. Last year I realized I had a lot of content and all this content deserved a paper version, well-organized, that could be used as a guide, with some tutorials dedicated to experimental photography. And now, here we are: a book of almost 300 pages with more than 400 shots, reviews of cameras/films/accessories and explanations about some experiments such as cross-processing, EBS technique etc. And you can find a page about the Kono Rotwild 400 film in it!

Is there anything, anybody or anyplace on your bucket list you have to take a picture from?
My list is gigantic, with a lot of people, famous people, models (Tilda Swinton, if you read me…) and a lot of country (Finland, Armenia, Poland are maybe the next on my list).
